Organizing Thoughts

All projects involve organizing a set of steps. Complete Step 1, then Step 2, and so on.

A writing project is no different. Present Thought 1, then Thought 2, and so on.

Before ever laying down a single word, successful writers have their thoughts planned out and charted.

Principle 1: Give the gift of understanding.

We write for someone to read. So, writers have a duty to make reading simple. Good writers put readers first.

Principle 2: Thoughts have structure.

A well-written paper is like a well-built house of thoughts. Built on a strong foundation, the writer's thoughts are interconnected with strong support. Those thoughts should be easily navigable, leading to a precise point.
